GIRL IT. builds girls strong in body and mind.

GRADE 3-5

This science backed yoga based program introduces them to the confidence toolbox while they’re just figuring things out. We have lots of fun while building their self esteem by strengthening their body and mind. We yoga, meditate (for just a wee bit), we journal and discuss a different confidence building topic each week age appropriate.Give them a strong foundation with this program.

GRADE 6-8 /TWEEN

Middle School Years- aka the painful years. This science backed yoga based program starts to focus on friendships and getting to know themselves on and off the mat. We yoga, we meditate, we journal and discuss a different confidence building topic each week -age appropriate. Life skills are introduced, ie how to respond not react, positive self talk, learning the foundation of building resiliency and more. Give them the tools to build themselves with a strong base of who they are as they navigate these oh so fun years!

GRADE 9-12/TEEN/COLLEGE

Teen Yoga Classes focus on mental and physical strength. Getting fit in body and mind. This is a constantly evolving science backed class. Meditation is part of the foundation of this class- sprinkled with nutrition nuggets and tools on how to believe in herself. The benefits of this class are life long. The life skills they learn on the mat - they will take with them off the mat as they journey through their next phase.

Belief in herself is invaluable.

History

Girl It. was created in 2012. It started organically with 2 moms wanting to give their girls confidence through holistic tools. We ran, “yogaed”, meditated, journaled and talked, A LOT.

Philosophy

Girl It. builds girl strong in body and mind. We teach girls the tools now to grow their self esteem, courage and confidence before they fly the nest .

Why Yoga based.

Science backed benefits. Movement, breath work(pranayama) and stillness teach the girls to focus on and off the mat. The “lessons” learned on the mat are taken off the mat to real life. Yoga can be hard or “easy” they learn to get our of their comfort zone, how to get back into “the Pose” after falling, these “lessons” transfer off the mat.

 

Why Nutrition Nuggets

Making healthy choices has endless benefits especially as they’re growing and creating lifelong habits. Giving them these nuggets gives them power and that gives them confidence creating healthy habits for life.

Why Meditation

Meditation is proven to help with mental health. It becomes their go to in challenging situations, rather than self sabotage they learn to see the present moment and that thoughts are just thoughts.

Modern Girl Talk

Our theme each week is explored deeply and presented in way the girls understand and can execute in their daily life. Examples are Negative Self Talk, Body Image, Importance of selecting the right Board of Advisors, their friends:)
